This is the very last step in the immigration process and often the most rewarding. After obtaining “LPR” or “green card” status you can file for citizenship assuming you meet all of the qualifications. Sometimes these applications are easy and other times they are more complicated. You usually have to learn English but there are exceptions to this rule. Applicants should pay their taxes if they are working, not leave the country for long periods of time, pay all family support obligations and otherwise be a person of “good moral character”.
